Fine Arts

Visual Arts:

The Visual Arts curriculum offers students a foundation course that covers the basic concepts and practical skills in art and design. Study includes understanding of concepts, visualization and creative expression in various art media.

Art & Craft

Project-based learning being an integral part of curriculum delivery at Ambassador Schools, right from Pre-primary classes to higher classes concepts are reinforced through various art forms and craft. Many of the motions involved in making art, such as holding a paintbrush or scribbling with a crayon, cutting straight lines with scissors are essential to the growth of fine motor skills in young children and act as pre-cursor to pre-writing skills. By primary level, the students can use descriptive words to discuss their own creations or to talk about what feelings are elicited when they see different styles of artwork. Arts and crafts are a great way of bridging cross-curricular activities in and outside the classroom and are helpful in developing brain and cognitive faculties.

Painting & Sketching

Drawing is one of the most important activities for Ambassador students. Drawing not only provides the basis for other creative activities – like painting, sculpture and printmaking – but it also provides a direct link with reading, writing and especially mathematics. Drawing is the single most accessible form of art that begins with a pencil and a sheet of paper. From basic drawing which aids mobility skills, students move on to use of colours; crayons, pastel, water colour, oil and canvas paintings and experiment with various textures and materials. Sketching and painting help students communicate their emotions or feelings and express themselves without the use of words through the use of different colours.

Pottery & Sculpting

Sculpting and Pottery Studio at Ambassador Schools not only provide a platform for artistic manifestation of ideas and visual representation of a concept but also have a long-lasting impact on the conscious and sub-conscious faculties of the mind. As the young potters learn to use the wheel, they are able to master balance and pressure techniques to achieve a smooth formation. Their visual- spatial skills are developed and concentration improves considerably. Feel of various textures of clay have a soothing effect on the psyche of the sculptors and they are naturally inclined to test their artistic expressions through exploration, experimentation and expression. This art form builds imagination, spurs intellectual curiosity and understanding of art and aesthetics.

Creative Designing

Creative Design at Ambassador Schools includes facilities for computer-aided design, visual communication, active learning and facilitation strategies. An impressive range of resources and media to draw upon, it is a structured framework for identifying challenges, gathering information, generating potential solutions, refining ideas, and testing solutions and thus creating a mindset and approach to learning, collaboration, and problem solving.
