Performing Arts

Performing Arts:

The Performing Arts programmes focus on providing children with a platform where they receive tangible acknowledgement and encouragement, as they encounter audience reaction and feedback. By communicating freely with the voice, face and body, children learn to express ideas, empathise with others from different cultures and backgrounds, boost their confidence and develop a sense of belonging. Theatre, music, song and dance can help children become more imaginative, self-aware and collaborative global citizens.

Musical instruments

Music is food for soul, and it evokes finer emotions in individuals. Playing instrumental music at Ambassador School motivates interest and stimulates musical enjoyment in a fun learning environment. Playing of instruments like violin, guitar and drums are not only for personal achievement but students also enjoy playing in a symphony or band promoting group dynamics, collaborative working and together creating a masterpiece. Violin classes develop a strong foundation for study skills, such as concentration, memory and perseverance. Students are encouraged to develop an aesthetic response by experimenting musical discovery using different musical instruments. Western music forms and music from various cultures are used to provide a truly international feel to the curriculum.

Vocal Singing

Classical singing serves as a strong link to society’s culture and celebrated art-forms. Singing is an artistic manifestation of a discipline that allows creative expression, variation, experimentation and musical intelligence. Through expert training at Ambassador Schools, students learn to effectively use their vocal chords, voice modulation read notations, master tempo and speed and sing soulfully. Singing makes children feel more positive about themselves and builds a sense of community. Singing impacts physical well-being by improving efficiency of the cardio-vascular system, increasing the oxygenation of the blood and improving alertness, reducing stress and thus, increasing longevity and general health.

Theatre (Expressions Programme)

The School uniquely blends artistic training in a conservatory environment that supports students with the freedom to explore their artistic passions. Through programs of the highest caliber, as well as initiatives that provide access to professional experience, students are prepared for leadership in every facet of dramatic arts. Creative stage is a platform for personality development; the students overcome stage fright, master confidence for public speaking, build vocabulary and hone presentation skills to address larger audience. Through annual drama productions children learn about listening, following cues, improvisation and expression of language.

Dance (Indian Classical Dance - Bharatnatyam)

Classical Indian dance form speaks of century old tradition of fine arts and classical and folk music and dances. Indian classical dances are about understanding the mind-body-soul connection. When students practice these dance forms, they are basically training your mind to focus on one thing for extended periods of time. Classical dances offer a cathartic release of various emotions while expressing through body movements and facial drama. This helps in understanding the connection between emotions – mind and body. Through dance, children develop spatial awareness, become less clumsy and pay more attention to others sharing their space. Children struggling with language can express their feelings with immediacy through dance and movement.
